Schools are back this week and for the children of Thurston CE Primary Academy, they have had the excitement of returning to a brand new school building. Along with the new building, Headmaster John Bayes commissioned me to design a new school crest and accompanying branding which I’m thrilled to be able to finally share.
The initial brief was to modernise the existing crest, being sympathetic to its history but to reflect the school’s new motto and beliefs. The new crest also needed to be responsive so that it could work across all literature, signage and the school uniform.
I also designed various posters which were supplied framed for the classrooms, the school foyer and main hall as well as foamex signage.
Having visited the new school last week, whilst the final touches were being made, I am delighted with the results and the new crest and branding give the school a real personality and modern feel which I hope the staff and pupils will enjoy for years to come.
